Long Eaton goes Bang! for local causes

Over 1000 people of all ages came along to see Long Eaton 461’s Firework Display on Friday 2nd November.
First started two years ago, this year’s event was even bigger and better than 2006. Two fantastic firework displays had the crowds cheering, clapping, and looking forward to returning next year. Food and drink in the form of burgers, mushy peas, beer and mulled wine was sold from stalls manned by tablers and the ladies of Circle.
A number of local charities will benefit from the money raised – at the time of writing the final tally is not known but is expected to be well into four figures.
Chairman Dave Liddington said afterwards “the commitment from the club has been outstanding and it makes me very proud to be your chairman”. [Ed’s note: he hasn’t yet twigged who will be the guy next year].
The club also welcomed several members of Nyborg Round Table from Denmark for the weekend who complimented Long Eaton Table for laying on the fireworks in their honour!
