Men’s Fitness and FHM readers will be joining the hunt for “Man of the Year”

Could you be the face of the Round Table for 2014? The search is on for one lucky ‘Manbassador’.

Throughout January we are calling on you, the Resolutionists. Members and non-members alike are invited to showcase their most impressive & inspiring new years resolutions via the Facebook page to be in with a chance of being crowned the Round Table’s ‘Man of the Year’.

Our clubs up and down the UK will be showcasing bravery, humiliation, commitment & raw manliness all in the name of the New Year and our crusade pushing men up and down the UK to ‘Do More’. But now is your chance to join the movement. Resolutions will be judged by our impressive and noble panel of all around manliness to decide who will be the face of the Round Table for 2014.

To enter, simply upload your resolution with supporting video or photographic evidence to our page timeline between 1st-31st January. Selected resolutionists will have their efforts promoted throughout the campaign by the Round Table. Remember, the more exposure you can get, the better. Share with friends, family & colleagues to increase your chances of becoming Round Table’s Man of the Year 2014.

The madness continues all year, you can find out more about us or get introduced to your nearest club by clicking here.

Join the resolution.

Remember it could be you, but only if you share with us your resolutions!

Swadlincote and District East Mids Air Ambulance Bike Ride

Members of Swadlincote Round Table will be cycling from Glossop to Market Harborough (~130 miles) over the 1st and 2nd of September to raise money for the East Midlands Air Ambulance. Glossop and Market Harborough cover the extremities of the area covered by the East Midlands Air Ambulance which is based at East Midlands Airport, and ranges from the Peak District to the far side of Leicestershire.

The route measures over 100 miles and will be covered over the two days, with nightly stopovers at YHA Youth Hostels prior to, and during, the route.

It costs approximately £1,400 per mission for the air ambulance and I along with four other riders are hoping to raise enough money to pay for at least two of their missions. Donations for the Air Ambulance are being gathered via the JustGiving Website. Please promote this worthwhile cause via any routes open to you.

Swadlincote 308 Donate Me & Dee Comfort Packs

Swadlincote Round table spent the evening of the 26th June at Me & Dee‘s Office in Melbourne to assist in packing the first batch of  ‘Comfort Packs’ for delivery to Royal Derby Hospital.

These Packs are given to the patients and family of terminally ill people rushed to the hospital without time to organise anything themselves. A pack consists of a number of basic essentials and small comfort items, tailored to either a parent, teenage boy/girl, or younger boy/girl.

Swadlincote Round Table have sponsored 100 of these packs for Royal Derby Hospital and Chairman Andy Massey went along with Maria to Royal Derby Hospital to deliver the first batch. We hope to return to complete packing the remaining packs soon.
