Beeston & District Round Table 573 donated funds to a brand new start up girl guide troop.
Beeston Round Table were approached by 3rd Attenborough Girl Guides for a donation to help assist with the set up costs for a new girl guide troop.
Tonya and her troop were having to beg and borrow items to get involved in the activities that the guiding calendar is made up of. They meet on a Monday night (as we do) so some of the Beeston boys went down to hand over the cash. Their initial request was for £ 194.61 (yes it was all broken down) We not only donated their request but also covered the administration costs for the year to a total of £600.00
Andy Moore said ‘it is like a start up business, the costs involved are always hardest to swallow in the early years, hopefully the donation will give them a great helping hand to go from strength to strength in the years to come’.
Beeston were treated to pancakes and coffee, on the night, by the girl guides who were cooking with borrowed frying pans and utensils on borrowed stoves!
