Beeston Help Local Scout Troop with Donation

img_2087Beeston & District Round Table 573 gave up one of their event nights to donate some of its charity fund to a local scout group 2nd Chilwell Scout Troop wrote to Beeston Round Table asking for a donation to assist them in the purchase of four dining shelters. They had already received a donation from Manor Pharmacy for 1 of the tents and asked if we could also help with buying another.

Instead of just one tent Beeston handed over a cheque for £825.00 to enable the troop to complete their entire request for four tents. The donation was handed over to the District Commissioner, Richard Pratt, in front of the scout leaders Martin Oakland, Jonathan Tait, Adrian Clarke & Phil Shipley along with many of the troop.
The scouts also helped Beeston Round Table on one for the Christmas float nights, so it is a real case of the Round Table supporting, helping and working with the local community.

We felt it important not just to send the donation to the Scout troop but to actually visit them on one of their nights and tell the scouts and leaders a little bit about the Round Table organisation.
